Tesseract.js v2 alpha version is now available. via /r/javascript

Tesseract.js v2 alpha version is now available.

Tesseract.js is a javascript OCR library which leverages emscripten to port Tesseract OCR engine to browser.

Version 1 of this library released in 2016, and after all these years, now version 2 is finally under alpha version. The biggest change in version 2 is that we finally port the latest Tesseract v4 (which is released on 2018.10) and it brings performance enhancement and more accurate recognition result.

If you are interested in trying our latest version, please visit here: https://tesseract.projectnaptha.com/

Github repository: https://github.com/naptha/tesseract.js

Of course this is still far from perfect, please feel free to leave your comments here or in github issues. 🙂
